An eleven-year-old wanted a scavenger hunt that did not need a grown-up to organise it, so her dad built one.
Boilerplate
Scavvi is a family scavenger hunt app for iOS and Android. Children aged roughly four to fourteen take photos of things on a list, and an AI checks each find on the spot, so a hunt runs itself without a parent refereeing. Families can play at home, on holiday, or along geofenced trails through real cities. Scavvi was the idea of eleven-year-old Harper and is built by her father, Ross Jones, through UK company The Hopium Lab Ltd. The same trail technology is offered to city tourism boards as the Scavvi Engine, which pairs white-label family trails with verified visitor analytics.
