Liverpool scavenger hunt for kids and families
Liverpool's waterfront does a lot of work in a short distance: docks, ferries, two cathedrals and the mythical birds on top of the Liver Building. This is a free self-guided trail of eight finds along the front and up into the city, checked as you go.
How the hunt works
Each stop is a thing to find. When your child spots it, they take a photo, and the app checks two things at once: that you are actually at the location, and that the photo shows the right thing. Only then does the stop count.
That verification is the difference between a printed checklist and a game. Nobody can tick off the Münster from a café two streets away, which is exactly why children take it seriously.

Liverpool Waterfront
The docks, the Liver Birds and a very famous cellar.

How much does the Liverpool scavenger hunt cost?
Nothing. The Liverpool trail is free in the Scavvi app and needs no booking.
How long does it take?
The waterfront finds cluster tightly, so an hour covers most of it. The cathedral is a walk uphill from the docks and adds a fair bit.
Is the waterfront good for children?
The Albert Dock area is pedestrianised and popular with families, with museums right there if the weather turns. There is open dock water, so younger children need watching.
What is a Liver Bird?
The mythical bird on Liverpool's coat of arms. Two large copper ones sit on the Liver Building towers, and once you start looking you will find them all over the city.
What ages does it suit?
Four to fourteen. Ships, cranes and ferries are excellent for young children, and hunting Liver Birds works for any age.
